HISTORY OF CIC
The CAMEROON INVESTMENT CREDIT UNION in short C.I.C is a 1st category micro finance institution (MFI), affiliated to the CamCCUL network, under approval N° 00353 / MINEFI of 27/08/2001. COBAC and N° D-2001/05 code19533 of 10-10-01.
Its head office is in Akwa-Douala, opposite DIKA AKWA Palace.
As a 1st category MFI, CIC is governed by :
- The provisions of law no. 92/006 of 14 August 1992 and its implementing decree no. 92/455/PM.
- Article 15 of the Finance Act and its implementing decree no. 98/300/PM of 09 September 1998, amended and supplemented by decree no. 2001/023/PM of 29 January.
- Regulation n°01/02/CMAC/UMAC/COBAC of 13 April 2002 relating to the conditions of exercise and control of microfinance activity in the CEMAC zone.
This first category microfinance institution (MFI) with variable capital operates in the form of an association in which the members constitute the clientele and are therefore the only ones to have access to the various products and services it markets.
Since February 2018, Ms NGUENOU KANA married NANDA KEMGANG Aline has been the Managing Director, and Ms NKAMANYI married TETANG Julienne the Deputy Managing Director.
CIC is the initiative of experienced professionals in both banking and cooperative techniques. To carry out its activities successfully, it has a dynamic and well-organised management team.
CIC’s organisation comprises 5 key levels of responsibility, divided as follows:
It is the supreme deliberative and decision-making body of the CIC.
Composed of five (05) Directors elected at the General Meeting, it administers and manages the CIC. However, the day-to-day management of the institution is delegated to the General Management.
Composed of 03 members elected at the General Meeting, it is the internal control body.
It is the executive body and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the CIC. As such, it performs its duties under the authority and control of the Board of Directors.
It decides on credit applications submitted by members, in accordance with the credit policy adopted by the Board of Directors.
- The CIC network is made up as follows:
- The Head Office/General Management is located at Boulevard de la République in Akwa Douala, opposite the DIKA AKWA palace. Tel: 233 42 86 55/ 695 062 120.
- The BONADIBONG Douala branch is located on rue Gallieni, between the former Berlitz cinema and the former 3rd District police station. Tel: 674 759 186.
- The first branch in Yaoundé is on Avenue Kennedy, opposite Orange Cameroun. Tel: 697 476 689.
- The second Yaoundé branch located in MVOG-MBI after the chapel. Tel: 690 31 92 94.
- The AKWA-PRESTIGE branch, located at the same address as the head office. Tel: 695 807 239.
- The BAKOU by BAFANG branch in the Haut-Nkam department was set up 02 years ago and is located opposite the local market. Tel: 698 254 762.
The CIC is run by two bodies: the Executive Board and the Management Board.
The Executive Board reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
The Management Board is made up of the branch manager, the operations manager, the sales manager, the teller and the cashier.
